Maybe I’m a pessimist, but with all that’s been going on “just because” of the spread in coronavirus cases and deaths, I really start wondering how is anyone going to survive all the other crises that are or will happen?
I mean, just to list a few: intentionally developed bioweapons, cyberattacks against nations, all the viruses that will become unfrozen in the arctics due to global warming/climate change (not to mention the growing number of natural disasters and heatwaves), micro-plastics, general artificial intelligence like the Matrix, …
The only take-away I’ve gotten so far is the general public is screwed because world leaders and governments think everything can be fixed by throwing massive piles of money around and hoping some miracle happens before a lot of people die… rather than preempt issues properly, governments and politicians just keep throwing public money into black holes. And when the issues were small or manageable, they just deny, procrastinate and kick-the-can until it really is a crisis…
Or maybe this is just inevitable… a natural way of resetting the world like in Dr. Stone: Eventually, one way or another, most of civilization is wiped out and the survivors sort of restart again and not screw up so badly… or maybe not.
